Quiet, please, Mr. Cheney

Charles M. Blow wrote a great op-ed in the June 18 NY Times about the gall of Dick Cheney in dissing the president’s handling of Iraq, included in the link below. He points out the short memories of some regarding the war, how history will likely see the Bush administration, and the tact of the former president in keeping his mouth shout about the current administration’s policies.

Without all-inclusive government, some Iraqi sects govern with terrorists. Perhaps we’re just an evolved population. The GOP, Tea Party and Democrats vs. the Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds. Misinformation, smear campaigns, hypocrisy, unregulated lobbyists and political campaigns, and a stalled out House of Representatives as compared to an Iraq government that won’t be all-inclusive so terrorists and sects more aggressively communicate their unhappiness with the current regime.

I can’t help but wonder, aside from the blood shed, how is the lack of governing for the people in the U.S. Congress and all its bigotry that different than the Iraqi culture? After all, the Republican party has all but shut down our country’s democratic process for the benefit of a very small minority. I’m not even sure their tactics can be called evolved.
